If anyone cares to read this, I will be the first to say DO NOT UPGRADE!!
I am spreading the word – facebook, word of mouth, every professional photographer in LA I know, blogs, etc.
You gotta raise hell to get changes.
Lets see if Adobe will do anything about these issues…

Dear Adobe,
I am awaiting the full and official release of LR3.2 so I can evaluate any SIGNIFICANT improvements in performance.

As can be seen by following postings on this list, many people, like myself, are having performance issues on equipment that more than meets the default minimum specification as listed by yourselves for running LR3.0. While [...]

I can’t believe that a product with a name like “Lightroom” doesn’t have this capacity. This tool has failed its namesake purpose.

My rant completed, does LR3 have this capability or shall I start shopping for a new image editor?

Hi

I just upgraded from lightroom 2.7 to lightroom 3. I then proceeded to import my old catalog. this all went fine but lightroom is so slow, the thumbnail previews take forever to load if I manage to have the patience to wait for them.

is there a quick solution?? How can it be sped up?

thanks
Laurence

I’ve seen several posters suggest the use of SSDs to improve Lightroom’s performance, and I’m thinking of doing the same. I’ve seen the theoretical arguments for and against this. If you’ve used an SSD with LR, could you post your experience?

Thanks!

I don’t like to have LR or any programs making unused files from everything I do, I have a different way of working and find catalogs and collections extraneous. Can I turn them off permanently?
