Using Photoshop Element version 8, I couldn’t add text to my photos. I contacted Adobe support and opened a case and was put through a comlicated procedure to rename my Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 Prefs.psp which I did with no success. Then I was told to create a new user home because mine had probably become corrupted and if this didn’t solve the problem to uninstall and reinstall the software. I did uninsall and reinstall the software but was afraid to mess with my user home which was working properly. I still couldn’t add text. Then I tried this forum, read a number of posts. Then I read a post by (Tricia_Rouse). She wrote “if all else fails..First try resetting the Text Tool”. First make sure the text tool is highlighted. Next go to the Re-set button to re-set this particular tool. In Elements 8 there is a nearly invisible donward facing triangle. Click this tool and then click “Resey Tool” It worked after I had spent the better part of 16 hours on this preoblem. I hope this helps someone. J_Beginner
