Have you ever been unsatisfied with the instruction manual that comes with your Nikon dSLR? Notorious Nikon shooter, Ken Rockwell, writes his own user’s manuals for many of the recent Nikon
digital SLR cameras. He goes into great detail on every button & switch on the outside, and every menu option the camera offers. For nearly every setting, he explains what he uses and why he uses it, and how they impact your photos and/or photo-taking experience. They’re clearly written, and include pictures of the menus and camera layout as well. There are manuals for the following Nikon cameras:
No D60 guide. He didn’t write one for some reason.
D3 (most of the guide will apply to the D3x as well)
He gives printable PDF versions away for free on his website, but asks for a $5 donation via PayPal per copy that you print. For as helpful as they are, that’s an insignificant amount of money to pay. Even if you don’t need a new camera manual, check out Ken Rockwell’s website for a ton of great reviews and information about cameras, gear, and other photography topics.
