The first thing that you should do if you have any problems whatsoever is to apply the latest Photoshop patch (currently 11.0.1) and update your video card drivers. If Photoshop starts acting weird then you should also reset your preferences
Problem: Brush cursor is broken up
Solution: Look up and read the bolded parts again
Problem: Photoshop displays weird lines, squares or other artifacts
Solution: If the above doesn’t help then you will have to disable OpenGL Drawing from Edit->Preferences->Performance
Problem: Photoshop doesn’t recognize the video card

Problem: Hand Tool is stuck and selecting tools doesn’t work
Solution: In most cases this can be solved by simply tapping the space bar
Problem: Brushes don’t work
Solution: Move the pen away from your tablet. If that doesn’t work then update your tablet drivers.
Problem: The colors in Photoshop don’t look right (gray has a color cast)
Solution: You need to use a color calibration device to calibrate your monitor. If for whatever reason you don’t have one then you will have to set the default monitor profile to sRGB in the Color Management section of your operating system but note that this is a fake, the true solution to this problem is properly calibrating your monitor.
